- Los Tacos ChingonesMexican restaurant in Bayonne (Petit Bayonne)
The starting point
A Mexican restaurant in the Petit Bayonne, a strong logo (a calavera and its sun rays) and the wish to give it a shop window online. This site did not start as an order: it is a farewell gift for my former employer, as a thank-you. It was not sold, and this file does not present it as a service.
The approach
A single page, designed for a hungry customer with a phone in hand: a readable menu first, two actions always within reach (order on Uber Eats, book a table), and an identity held to three colour families only: cream, orange and cactus green. The site exists in French and Spanish, with a language switch, and its menu reproduces, according to the project’s repository, the restaurant’s official menu.
The solution
- An animated opening screen: the restaurant’s emblem and its sun rays.
- The menu: choice of fillings, starters and sharing platters, with their prices, vegetarian and gluten-free markers, and a dish’s detail on touch.
- "Order" (Uber Eats) and "Book" buttons, pinned to the bottom of the screen on a phone.
- A booking form in French and Spanish: it composes a message and opens it in WhatsApp, without any data passing through a server of the site; the restaurant answers.
- Opening hours, with an "open" or "closed" status computed from the time of day.
- A section pointing to the restaurant’s own sauce shop, "Maison Chingones".
- Search visibility: OpenGraph tags, structured data, linked language versions, sitemap and robots.txt file.
- Accessibility: labelled form fields, errors linked to their field, animations that respect the reduced-motion preference.

What this piece is, and is not
It is a gift, made on 18 and 19 July 2026 and shown here with the restaurant’s consent. No result (footfall, bookings, orders, rating) is claimed. According to the project’s history, the rating shown on the page was corrected along the way to match the one on the restaurant’s Google listing: a figure is checked at its source, even in a gift. The site is a demo version hosted separately, its address is not published here; this file says nothing about how the restaurant uses it. The screenshots show the top of the page and the menu, and leave out the restaurant’s contact details.
